Jon Scieszka is the official SPHDZ historian. He is writing the history of the SPHDZ movement as a book series so that everyone can learn how the SPHDZ mission began.
SPHDZ series[]
Scieszka is writing the history of the SPHDZ movement as a six-book series, which is being published by Simon & Schuster. The first book in the series, SPHDZ Book #1, will be published on June 22, 2010. The second book, SPHDZ Book #2, will be published on December 21, 2010.
Non-SPDHZ career[]
Besides being the SPHDZ historian, Scieszka is well-known as the author of many popular books for children, including The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Time Warp Trio series, and the Caldecott Honor Book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Fairy Tales.
Scieszka was the first National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, named by the Library of Congress. He is the creator of the Trucktown series, of which Smash! Crash! was a New York Times bestseller for many weeks. Scieszka is a former elementary school teacher, and a avid promoter of literacy—particularly for boys.
